The Central Library of Ansan City announced that it will run a special lecture on youth humanities, "World Citizens,Cross the Sea of Hate to Peace" online.

The lecture, which will be held twice on the 6th and 13th of next month, is expected to be a useful time for teenagers in Ansan, designated as the first mutual cultural city in 2020, to find the meaning of world citizens actintogether

through fair thinking under the theme of "Human Rights, Peace, Coexistence."

The first special lecture "Hate and Human Rights" by Jang Deok-hyun, a human rights activist who worked for Mnesti International and Save the Children, talks about issues such as discrimination and violence arising from the reasons of people's different identities. 

The second special lecture "People Who Lost Peace" will learn about the people who lost their voices around us with the current director of the Peace Conflict Research Institute, Chung Joo-jin, and share opinions on how to create a world where we live peacefully together.

The lecture will be held through an online video conference program for 50 teenagers in Ansan City, and applications will be held on a first-come, first-served basis through the website of the Ansan Central Library from 10 a.m. on the 8th of this month.

다음달 6일, 13일 2회에 걸쳐 진행되는 이번 강의는 2020년 국내 최초 상호문화도시로 지정된 안산시의 청소년들이 ‘인권, 평화, 공존’을 주제로 공정한 생각을 통해 더불어 사는 세상을 위해 행동하는 세계시민의 의미를 찾아보는 유익한 시간이될 것으로 기대된다.

첫 번째 특강 ‘혐오와 인권’은 전 국제엠네스티, 세이브더칠드런에서 근무한 인권분야 활동가 장덕현 작가사람들의 다른 정체성을 이유로 발생하는 차별과 폭력 등의 문제를 인권의 관점에서 이야기 한다.

두 번째 특강 ‘평화를 빼앗긴 사람들’은 현 평화갈등연구소 정주진 소장과 우리 주변에 있는 목소리를 빼앗긴사람들에 대해 알아보고, 함께 평화롭게 사는 세상을 만드는 법에 대해 의견을 나누어본다.

안산시 청소년 50명을 대상으로 하는 이번 강연은 온라인 화상회의 프로그램을 통해 진행되며, 접수는 이달  8일 오전 10시 부터 안산중앙도서관 홈페이지를 통해 선착순으로 진행된다.
